Globe & Mail 2025: 10 travel destinations around the country to explore this summer: There’s a lot you can see by car on PEI but even more that can be taken in by bike. At high season on the busiest segments of the Confederation Trail , cyclist traffic is heavy enough that you will have to ride single file. But there were long stretches of our 24 kilometre round trip from St. Peter’s Bay to Morell where Jenny and I rode side by side without encountering another soul. We coasted through grassy fields, patches of forests and along boulder lined bay, hardly breaking a sweat-because we’d wisely rented e-bikes from Confederation Trail Bike Rental Adventures.

Kelsey was friendly and knowledgeable about the bikes and the trail. She knew the area like a book and provided support above and beyond for a group of 6 elders. Excellent location for Confederation Trail and coastal attractions.

I am visiting from B.C. and wanted to explore a bit by bike. I couldn’t decide which trail to do. Greenwich or the Confederation Trail. So I did both! I had a great time.

I highly recommend this place. The people were so friendly and helpful. My friend and I have never ridden an E Bike. The girl we checked in with was so helpful. She took us outside and explained everything so well. The trail is beautiful and flat.

Excellent views of the bay and a great ride to the national park. The staff is fantastic to work with and helped suit the individual needs of my group. They were sweet and great islanders. Keep and eye out for the eagles if you go; they’re truly amazing to see.

Great people and service was great. Trails Fantastic! The made absolutely sure we had everything we needed. When I had a fall (my fault) Ed was there in minutes to get my self and the bike up. Great experience. We will do it again when we are back.

2seniors from Ontario rented 2 bikes for an afternoon ride on the Confederation Trail to Morell from St. Peter’s Bay. Extended our ride to a quaint marina in Red Head Harbour for our lunch break. (Highly recommended this short side trip is very picturesque). Staff, equipment, and ease of ride made for a spectacular day. Bonus was viewing a bald eagle on the trail. Our group of 4 had a great experience renting bikes from Confederation Trail Bike Rentals. The gentleman who served us was incredible kind and gave us great information on trails. We rented bikes for ½ day even though we just had a few hours, and he told us to take our time and return the bikes after hours if we needed to. The bikes are well maintained Trek cruisers with water bottle holders, and the rental includes a helmet and bike lock. The rental shop is conveniently located next to Confederation Trail and we did an easy ride from there to Morel and back taking us past lovely views of the bay. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely return the next time I visit PEI.

We rented 4 electric bikes from this rental shop. We had a great time and e bikes was the way to go so we could see more of the island.

Staff extremely helpful explaining absolutely everything you’d want or need to know for bike ride. Did the Greenwich Trail, other then the initial uphill it is very easy, paved all the way. Bike locks and helmets provided, the bikes were in good shape. Many sizes available.

Great experience. Friendly staff, easy to book and very helpful setting bikes up. Helmets included. We went along the Confederation Trail from St Peters Bay to Morell. The trail is beautifully maintained, very scenic and when we rode on Sunday in July, very quiet. Highlights for us were the Ospreys nest close to the route.

We rented 5 E Bikes as well as regular bikes for my daughter and a kids bike for mu niece. We had a great time. We did the trail to Greenwich Beach. It was a great ride. The kids kept up easily as it is mostly flat. The beach road to the shore was a bit washboard but other then that smooth sailing. The service is friendly and helpful. The gift shop is well done and reasonable. They recommended The Golden Dory and we stopped on our way back and had a wonderful lunch. We left around 9:30 and got back around 1:30. It was a great morning.

We rented four bikes and loved the ride to Greenwich. It was simply beautiful. The bikes were well maintained and the staff helped us adjust them to our sizes. The owners are super friendly and take the time to show you some beautiful places to ride on the island.

We really enjoyed renting bikes from Confederation Trail Bike Rental Adventures. Ed, the owner is a great guy and very helpful. He provided us with great bikes and a helpful trail map. He also answered questions we had about the area. We had a nice bike ride from St. Peter’s Bay out to Morell and back. A very scenic and enjoyable ride. Such a beautiful spot-you’ll enjoy renting from this shop and biking in the area. Thanks again Ed-we had a great time.

Calvin K: Super friendly staff. Lots of bikes to choose from. Pointed us onto an amazing route around the island with stops at Shipwreck Point and came back down the Confederation Trail. Took a 5 hour trip.

Leigh MacAdam: HikeBiketravel.com. 2024 You can rent bikes at Confederation Trail Bike Rental Adventures. They have a hugh selection of all types of bikes including e-bikes. They are located a short distance from the paved multi- use trail that runs parallel to Highway 313. The trail takes you right past the Greenwich Interpretative Center.

Rob J 2024: Rented a bike to check out Greenwich Dunes Park and some of the Confederation Trail. The staff got me sized and sorted out with a bike and helmet that fit me very well. Then sent me on my way with directions to get where I needed. It was a beautiful day cycling and an easy rental experience.

On our ride back to the shop one of the bikes got a flat tire. Ed picked us up at the closest trailhead and drove us back into St. Peter’s Bay. A+Service.

I had been told the ride from St. Peter’s to Morell was the most beautiful because of the Confederation Trail was parallel to the bay. From the moment that I entered the bike shop, I relaxed immediately. Ed was so helpful making sure I was satisfied with my bike and helping me get organized. I have had the pleasure of doing the trail 4 times now and each time I returned the bike, Ed always made sure my ride was successful. I wish to thank you for your kindness, patience and helpfulness.

MLV 2021: Fun and Scenic: Our short notice request was accommodated. We were quickly fitted with helmets and bikes. The bikes were in good working order. We cycled from St. Peter’s to Morell. The views across St. Peter’s Bay are spectacular! We saw lots of herons. The Confederation Trail is an easy bike ride with no more then a 2% grade. A great experience and highly recommended.
